This group-exhibition examines how six contemporary artists work with sculpture that in different ways relate to growth and movement - but also the lack of it. The dictonomy of creating something that is essentially about expanding, undulating, stirring and shifting; works that grow and move about the space, but at the same time are static, finished and sealed.

In the works of Fredrik Berberg we are witness to an investigation of the translation of aesthetics between virtual and physical spaces. Through 3D modeling and materialization processes, Berberg plays with ideas around organic growth as well as a deconstructed sense of architecture, creating new constellations conceived in a variety of materials.

Material exploration and alteration is also present in the works of Ole Martin Lund Bø. In his minimalist approach, Lund Bø challenges the connotations inherent in forms and surfaces, drawing out a condensed reflection of the immediate experience with the material.

Growth in an organic sense can be found in the stone sculptures by Kaja Dahl. With various materials such as raw stone, wood, terracotta and porcelain, Dahl works towards the goal of strengthening man's sensory relationship to natural materials. The result is unique and tactile works with a characteristic aesthetic sensuality.

In the works of Erika Stöckel, organic growth is present in the form of swelling ceramic shapes laid on top of each other. Rooted in questions around bodily awareness, her works illustrate shame and ownership, both in relation to her own identity as Samí, but also to material and bodily construction and re-construction.

In the works of Kaare Ruud, everyday functional objects are transformed into sculptures with new material characteristics. Giant size tables that make you feel small, a plastic hose with a bronze head moving around the house like a snake and bronze sculptures of living things that are now sealed in its form. With the crossing of material boundaries, common objects are made into something abstract and complex.

Experimentation with abstraction is also characteristic of the works of Kjell Varvin, whose sculptures are based in 20th century art isms on intuition and immediacy. His works can be described as musical and rhythmic in the way he combines them in new constellations, and are often independent in the way you can view them, standing on the floor, hanging from the ceiling or on the wall.
